With peak summer and fall lobster season on the horizon, Maine lobstermen continue to face challenges stemming from the world economic meltdown and the collapse of Iceland's banking sector last fall. Dockside lobster prices plummeted in the days and weeks following the failure of Iceland's banks last October. While prices rebounded modestly over the winter, the industry expects 2009 to be a tough year, according to Patrice McCarron, executive director of the Maine Lobstermen's Association.
