RELATIONSH.P BETWEEN CHARACTERIST.CS OF FARMERS WITH ADOPTION OF AGRICULTURAL INNOVATIONS

The present investigation was carried out in the three randomly selected village of community development block Baitalpur, District Deoria of UP. in the year 2004-05. it was found that from among the total respondents 16.67 per cent were high adopters; medium and low adopters were 31.11 per cent and 52.22 per cent respectively. Of the socio-economic characteristics, education, social participation, urban contact, farm size, and income were positively associated with the adoption of improved agricultural practices. Where as, family type, family size and age of the farmers did not indicate any significant relationship with the acceptance of improved agricultural practices.
