摘要

Cultivation of bamboo has been taken up on a fairly large scale in wastelands of eastern Uttar Pradesh. It was mainly grown under different agroforestry models mainly in riverbanks, stony gravel and canal bank. Multi-nodal cuttings of Bamboo Were planted in the main field at a distance of 30 fts. Plant to plant as well as row to row in the plantation. The gram and wheat crop were cultivated with the bamboo plant and it was found that gram gave better result in comparison to wheat. It was observed that the reduction in yield in case of gram was around 20% and reduction in yield in case of wheat was 30%. The. reduction in the yield was compensating by the sale of Bamboo pole, the total income from the research plot was more than the control plot.
