Screening of potato genotypes against major foliar fungal diseases of potato (Solatium tuberosum L.)

Out of all the twenty genotypes of potato RH-2, MM-8 and J/96-238 were found resistant and nine genotypes viz., MM-7, EM-5, EM-6, EM-3, K. Pukhraj, K. Pushkar, K. Arun, MS/99- 1871 and DSP-7 were found moderately resistant, EM-2, J/92-186, K. Ashoka,MS/1-4906 and M/l-4353 showed moderately susceptible reaction, remaining K.Bahar and K. Sindhuri found susceptible and K. Sutlej found highly susceptible against early blight. None of the genotypes was found to be free from disease (immune) in both the years. In the case of late blight reactions, RH-2 and K. Arun were found moderately resistant, and MM-8, K. Pukhraj, K. Pushkar, MS/ 99-1871, K. Sutlej and J/96-238 were found moderately susceptible, rest of the genotypes were found susceptible against late blight in both the years. None of the genotypes was found to be free from disease (immune) or resistant during both the years. K. Arun showed moderately resistant against both the diseases.
