Further evidence to suggest link between antipsychotic use in dementia patients and increased mortality risk

The link between the use of some antipsychotic medications in dementia patients and an increased risk of death has been purported for some years, and, although the way that this most recent study is designed means that the results cannot prove causality, the findings do add considerable weight to the idea that antipsychotic use is related to higher mortality risk.
