Midstream operator WBI Energy unveiled plans last week for a proposed natural gas pipeline to handle the growing volumes of associated production in the Bakken Shale of North Dakota. The pipeline would initially be designed to transport around 400 million cubic feet of natural gas per day, the company said. It could be expanded to carry more than 500 MMcf/d, depending on user commitments. WBI Energy, which is the pipeline and energy services subsidiary of MDU Resources, said it expects to invest $650 million to $700 million in the project.
