Texas appears poised to enact new legislation that will encourage the use of heavy-duty natural gas-powered vehicles and the refueling infrastructure to support them. A measure that recently passed the state Senate and is now awaiting Gov. Rick Perry's signature would provide grant money to help cover the cost of converting heavy-duty diesel trucks into natural gas-powered vehicles, with an eye to reducing the state's emissions of nitrogen oxide (NOx).
