Renewables M&A Deals Surge While Value Drops

Although the number of merger and acquisition (M&A) deals in the global renewable power sector surged last year, the combined dollar value of those deals fell sharply, according to an annual review published by consulting firm Price-waterhouseCoopers (PWC). PWC logged 530 renewable energy M&A transactions in 2010, up from 319 in the previous year, primarily reflecting increases in Europe (from 171 to 256) and North America (from 106 to 181).
