Imported LNG and reduced consumption have brought energy security to Chile after the years of painful winter shortages that followed Argentina's sharp 2004 reduction in gas exports, Chile's government says. And more LNG should be arriving by the Southern Hemisphere winter, thanks to the imminent opening of the country's second terminal.
