Colorado Unveils Wellwater Sampling Rule

Colorado regulators have unveiled rules for drillers and in doing so, drew fire from both the E&P industry and greens. The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission early last week approved a rule that would require E&P companies to take groundwater samples before and after drilling. The commission said the sampling is designed to confirm when, or if supplies of drinking water are contaminated by the drilling.
