BC Fracking Draws Scrutiny, Chemical Disclosure

The government of British Columbia has released funds for a preliminary study into the health effects of shale development, after complaints from residents who say methane leaks and flaring in areas of heavy drilling made them sick. At the same time, new rules effective Jan. 1 now require companies to publicly disclose the chemicals they use in their hydraulic fracturing operations.
