Marcellus Key Driver Behind Gas Output Jump for Range Resources

A doubling of production from the Marcellus Shale helped lead Range Resources its eighth consecutive year of double-digit production growth in 2011. The Fort Worth, Texas-based producer saw company-wide production volumes grow 12% to an average of 554 million cubic feet of gas equivalent per day in 2011, compared to 2010, notwithstanding the sale of the company's Barnett Shale assets early in the year.
