Billionaire Carl Icahn has more than doubled his stake in US independent Chesapeake Energy, giving him a 5.8% holding in the natural gas giant.A filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission revealed that Icahn holds more than 38.6 million shares in Chesapeake, up from the 16.6 million shares he controlled at the end of November.
