Another proposed LNG export project has joined the competition for the last marginal drop to be shipped from the US Gulf Coast, but this one has a technology twist: It floats. Excelerate Energy is developing plans for a floating liquefied natural gas unit (FLNG) to be located at Port Lavaca on the Texas Gulf Coast, about 100 miles southwest of Houston.
