Sustainability is more than just what "they're making us do" — it's a tremendous business opportunity, energy experts say, and businesses can develop, a viable sustainability program even ahead of the proposed carbon legislation. KPMG's Randy Wilson defines sustainability as "optimizing returns in a resource-constrained world." He advises businesses to take a broad approach, by aligningthe sustainability philosophy and strategy throughout the organization. "You have to imbed it across the business to be successful," he said at ACI's recent Risk Management conference in Houston. "If you have three people and call it a 'Sustainability Group' you're probably not going to get there."
