Encana Taking Stake, Capacity in Kitimat LNG

Canada's largest natural gas producer has taken both an equity stake and a capacity commitment in the 700 million cubic foot per day Kitimat LNG export complex planned for British Columbia. Encana said Friday it would take 30% equity and capacity interests in the venture now owned 51% by Apache Canada and 49% by EOG Resources Canada. Following completion of the transaction, Apache will own 40% and EOG 30%. Apache will continue as operator.
