Eni Makes Second Giant Find Off Mozambique Clinching LNG Plan

Eni has unveiled a second "giant" gas strike near the Mamba South-1 discovery it made last year offshore northern Mozambique. The Italian major said the new Mamba North-1 find could hold around 7.5 trillion cubic feet of gas in place. Together with last October's Mamba South strike, the total volume of gas in place is now estimated at 30 Tcf. Both are in Offshore Area 4, in which Eni has a 70% interest, alongside 10% partners Portugal's Galp, Korea Gas (Kogas) and Mozambican state ENH.
