Ukraine, Shell Advance Separate LNG Projects

LNG projects in Ukraine and Australia moved forward last week. Ukraine is about to implement a plan for a new Black Sea LNG import terminal as it wraps up the feasibility study for the project. A state-owned company will supervise construction of the 1 billion cubic foot per day capacity terminal that is expected to cost up to US$1 billion. Azerbaijan agreed late last month to supply the terminal with 3.5 million tons of LNG annually, or about 500 million cubic feet of gas per day.
