Green Report Finds NY Fracking Violates UN Human Rights Statutes

In the latest green salvo against hydraulic fracturing, we are told that if New York State allows fracking within its borders it would somehow violate human rights as delineated by the United Nations. According to the report distributed to relevant New York State officials; including Gov. Andrew Cuomo and members of his hydraulic fracturing advisory panel, "A recent United Nations General Assembly document informs the UN Human Rights Council that the environmental damage caused by hydraulic fracturing for natural gas poses 'a new threat to human rights.' And a recent United Nations Resolution states that 'environmental damage can have negative implications, both direct and indirect, for the effective enjoyment of human rights."'
