McMoRan Exploration has reported disappointing results from its ultra-deep Blueberry Hill appraisal well in the shallow-water Gulf of Mexico offshore Louisiana. The well failed to confirm the continuity of the pay sands seen in Blueberry Hill sidetrack wells #1 and #2 after being drilled to a total vertical depth of almost 24,000 feet in Louisiana State Lease 340.
