Abundant North American natural gas supplies driven by growth in unconventional formations are expected to enhance US energy security in several ways by narrowing the ability of gas exporters around the world to influence pricing and supply. The issue was discussed at length in a series of analyses released by the energy forum at Rice University's Baker Institute for Public Policy at a conference in Houston last week.
