The use of compressed natural gas (CNG) as a mainstream transportation fuel has moved from concept to reality in some parts of the US, where the rapid buildout of fueling stations is creating the need for new safety standards and protocols. "I think a lot of people look at it as the 'chicken or the egg' issue, but I think CNG has gone beyond that," said Jeremy Moore, president and founder of Oklahoma-based FS Circle Solutions — a company that trains fire marshals and building inspectors about the relevant codes and standards for CNG fueling stations that are for fleet vehicles and passenger cars alike.
