US January Gas Contract Weighed Down by Storage-Hoarding Outlook

US January natural gas futures ended the week mired near life-of-contract lows in the $2-teens, with little on the horizon to push the contract much higher. Weather forecasts don't look promising, with extremely mild conditions expected in the eastern US well into December. 'With weather remaining mild, the possibility of sub-$2 cash is on the table. In some way, the weather outlook can only be bullish, because it's difficult to imagine them getting any more bearish from here,' said Gelber & Associates analyst Aaron Calder.
