Pioneer Finds Buyer for Barnett Shale Assets, Divesting Hugoton

With operations now focused on the Eagle Ford Shale and Permian Basin, Pioneer Natural Resources said last week it would sell all of its assets in the Hugoton Basin in Kansas and the Barnett Shale in North Texas for net pro- ceeds of about $495 million. The company said Linn Energy would acquire its Hugo-ton assets for about $340 million, while an undisclosed buyer agreed to purchase its Barnett acreage for roughly $155 million (NGW Jun.2'14).
