BP has now approached the US Supreme Court, filing an application for the justices to intervene in the battle over a class-action settlement stemming from the 2010 Macondo disaster. Even as it took one of its legal cases to the highest court in the US, the UK-based company has asked a federal court in Houston to toss out claims made over the spill filed by its own countrymen.
