Report Recommends Buffer for Sage Grouse

The US Geological Survey issued a report last week that suggests a three-mile buffer zone for energy development in key oil and gas producing states in order to protect a vulnerable bird species (NGW Jun.23'14). The report is part of the Bureau of Land Management's preparation of a court-mandate conservation plan for the greater sage grouse.
