Trinidad Moving to CNG-Only Transport

Trinidad's state-owned Natural Gas Company will invest TT$500 million (US$78 million) to develop the first phase of a CNG plan for all vehicles in the country, according to Washington-based natural gas vehicle advocate, NGVAmerica. The five-year plan will start with the conversion of 17,500 vehicles, including maxi-taxis, buses and government vehicles, among others. The second phase, as yet unapproved, would involve the construction of 22 CNG standalone stations.
