TransCanada has secured support for firm transportation contracts of 378 million cubic feet per day to connect new shale gas supply in the Horn River basin north of Fort Nelson BC to the Alberta System after what the company termed a very successful open season."The positive commercial response is a result of the tremendous, largely untapped source for unconventional natural gas in the northeastern BC shale basins, combined with TransCanada's ability to meet this demand economically and efficiently,"said TransCanada Chief Executive Hal Kvisle."Looking forward,we expect to add future capacity to the line as the right opportunities present themselves."
