DOE Says Yes to Wind Energy for Southeast States

A 705-mile transmission line designed to deliver wind power from the Oklahoma Panhandle region to Southeastern states would have continued to languish in limbo without intervention from Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Ernest Moniz. DOE's late-March approval of the $2.5 billion clean energy project first proposed almost six years ago marks the first time an energy secretary called upon authority granted by Congress via the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
