Analyst: Western Canada Gas Production Stabilizes

Many US producers marked 2010 with, double-digit growth rates in natural gas production, but after years of declining output, producers in Canada's Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB) have to be thrilled that 2010 ended with wells in the region flowing 2.5% more gas to market than in the same month a year earlier. The year-end results strongly suggest that the four-yearlong plunge in WCSB production may be coming to an end, FirstEnergy Capital analyst Martin King said in a report issued in late January.
