Last year ended with extreme weather conditions punching the US exploration and production (E&P) industry, with gas production falling to its lowest level in a year thanks to curtailments caused by blizzards in the middle of the country and flooding on the Mississippi River. Winter Storm Goliath last week delivered a one-two punch to large areas of the country from Texas to the Great Lakes in the form of torrential rain and tornadoes followed by snowstorms and freezing temperatures.
