MMS to Issue 13 Research Leases in OCS

The Minerals Management Service is planning to issue limited leases for 13 offshore alternative energy research projects. The leases will have five-year terms and be used to jumpstart basic data collection on the development of alternative resources such as wind, waves and ocean currents in the Outer Continental Shelf.
