Global Green Cars All-Electric Light Pickup Leads Raceway Pace

For the first time, an electric vehicle was the lead pace car for a sanctioned raceway competition.The new 2010 G-3 plug-in electric pickup truck, made by Global Green Cars, led the pack at the Rocky Mountain Raceway on Aug. 29 in West Valley City, Utah.Over a three-hour period, the G-3 plug-in started all the heats and the main race at speeds around 50 mph, without recharging. The truck, with a working pay-load of 1,000 pounds, is able to attain speeds just over 85 mph.
