200-MW Solar Power Plant Goes On Line in California

Solar energy took the spotlight on both US coasts last week as a large-scale facility went on line in California and a smaller facility was completed in Massachusetts. In California, the 200-megawatt Tranquility Solar Facility has gone on line and is now producing commercial power for up to 50,000 homes. Partners Southern Power and Recurrent Energy are behind the project, which is located on a 1,900-acre tract in Fresno County.
