Demand for Heavy-Haul Drivers Outpacing Numbers in E&P Sector

In the onshore energy industry there is one class of worker that is often overlooked, but without heavy haul truck drivers — quite literally—very little would get done. The drivers pull drilling rigs, equipment and in many of the developing shale plays they drive the trucks that bring water for hydraulic fracturing to sites without onsite sources and then carry the wastewater to disposal sites. And, like the rest of the energy industry, the trucking industry is seeing a graying of the workforce as veteran drivers retire.
