Utilities Urged to Keep Up Clean-Energy Momentum

State regulators and local utilities must continue transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy to ensure the federal Clean Power Plan's carbon-reduction goals are met, the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) urged last week. "Even as natural gas prices reach historical lows, wind and solar technologies are increasingly competitive in the marketplace," NRDC said in a report marking the two-year anniversary of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) unveiling of its Clean Power Plan.
