With its acquisition of BG Group imminent, Royal Dutch Shell last week unveiled plans to create a standalone integrated natural gas division in January that will focus on marketing gas and LNG in North America and worldwide.The unit, which will include Shell's substantial gas-to-liquids operations, "reflects gas' enlarged scale and investment potential," Chief Executive Ben van Beurden said on a webcast for investors.
