Contracts Awarded for Gulf of Mexico FPU

Development of the development of the Jack & St. Malo floating production unit in the Gulf of Mexico look a big step forward last week with the awarding of two construction contracts. McDermott International and KBR both landed contracts from Chevron USA for either the design work or for the construction of parts of the giant offshore facility. Located in the deepwater Gulf, the Jack and St. Malo fields are within 215 miles of one another 280 miles south of New Orleans in 7,000 feet of water.
