Groups Seek Time to Review Safety Regs

Six industry groups are asking federal regulators for more time to review dozens of proposed pipeline safety rules rolled out in late March. The rules are part of a 549-page document that the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Association (PHMSA) released a preview of a few weeks ago (NGW Mar.28'16). Ordinarily, the public would have 60 days to comment on the draft regulations once they are published in the Federal Register. The American Gas Association, the Gas Processors Association, the Interstate Natural Gas Association and three other groups are asking PHMSA to extend that comment period by an additional 60 days.
