摘要

Milder weather and near-record gas storage levels should mitigate price spikes this winter, although the pipeline-constrained Northeast can still expect periods of volatility, according to two seasonal outlooks released last week in Washington. The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) said in its annual fuel outlook that gas supplies "should be adequate to meet demand this winter as average household gas consumption during the heating season is expected to be the lowest in four years." As a result, the agency said residential customers can expect 10% lower gas bills on average than a year earlier.
