Although the promise of LNG exports secured her re-election as she touted the high-paying jobs and royalties that would flow into British Columbia, the reality is that Premier Christy Clark cannot point to a single LNG project that has been given the green light by developers. Canada's National Energy Board has granted seven licenses to companies seeking to export gas from British Columbia (NGW Dec.23'13). Malaysia's Petronas recently said it will spend tens of billions of dollars developing its Pacific NorthWest LNG nroiect.
