Pilomyxoid astrocytoma in an elderly patient: A case report and review of literature

Sir, Pilomyxoid astrocytomas (PMAs) are considered as the infantile variant of pilocytic astrocytoma (PA) with a more aggressive course. The occurrence of these tumours in the elderly population is very rare. We report a case of PMA of the thalamic region in a 62-year-old male. To the best of our knowledge, this is the third reported case in literature of PMA in an individual aged > 60 years.
