摘要

Tamm-Horsfall protein or THP (also known as uromucoid or uromodulin) is synthesized only in the kidney and is the most abundant protein in human urine. Though the function of THP has not been fully elucidated, the biological properties of this protein make it an attractive candidate in host defense mechanisms and modulating innate and adaptive immunity.
