Advanced High-Strength Steels for Stamped Automotive Parts

摘要

The advent of AHSS has changed the way a metalformer operates. The steel industry has re-established the guidelines needed to form and weld these grades through AISI, the Auto/ Steel Partnership, IISI (International Iron and Steel Institute) and various government projects. The AHSS guidelines referenced in this article contain more than 100 pages of information, including references for further investigation. Further research is ongoing and additional work will be published on the forming of these steel grades. Historically, each new development and application of steel alloys within the automotive industry has been greeted with the same level of enthusiasm and generated the same type of learning curves currently being experienced with AHSS. In time, bumps in steel-technology development are smoothed as production experience increases. AISI, IISI and their member companies are committed to developing AHSS application technology so that steel will remain the material of choice for safe, affordable, fuel-efficient and environmentally responsible vehicles.
