Rosneft’s push for gas export rights is winning wider support among analysts and experts in Russia, despite robust resistance from monopoly pipeline exporter Gazprom. Speaking last week in Moscow at an LNG Congress organized by Vostok Capital, Grigory Vygon, director of the Skolkovo Business School’s Energy Center, said that if Russia were serious about selling more gas to Asia, Gazprom should not be the only company allowed to export from East Siberia, where most fields harbor gas as well as oil.
