The recent resumption of petroleum product supplies to Ukraine is turning out to be a boon for Russian oil companies, who are keen to use all available logistical options to send oil products, particularly diesel, to Europe. In May, Russian pipeline monopoly Transneft sent 30,000 tons of Rosneft’s diesel to Ukraine, the first such batch in two years. Oil companies are now considering whether to send their diesel through Ukraine to Hungary and other destinations, sources told Nefte Compass. Transneft is ready to expand infrastructure on Russian territory if there is a demand for this destination, insiders say (NC May 26’16).
