Gazprom Plans Kamchatka Drilling

Russia's Gazprom is preparing to start more exploration at its West Kamchatka Block offshore Russia's Far East, where it eventually plans to produce 750 MMcm/yr of gas. The gas giant has moved the Kolskaya rig to the port of Magadan, from where it will be towed to the block to start drilling in the Nizhne- Kvakchikskoye field. It has already reached target output of 175 MMcm/yr from the neighboring Kshukskoye field. Gas from the two deposits is destined for local use.
