Buying activity is picking up on the European gasoil market as the onset of winter prompts consumers to top up their dwindling supplies. ICE gasoil futures for the front (November) con- tract stood at around $946.50 per metric ton at press time on Oct. 19, up from $932/ton a week earlier, with the crack spread — gasoil's premium to ICE Brent — at $15.40/bbl for December and $15.54/bbl for January.
