Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft is poised to officially start up two new crude oil pipelines connecting greenfields in the Arctic region and East Siberia with the trunk pipeline network. However, the company is still waiting for a final decision on crude shipping tariffs via both lines and remains at odds with antitrust authorities over tariffs for 2017. Transneft should on Dec. 19 launch the Zapolyarye-Pur-Pe and Kuyumba-Taishet crude oil pipelines via a remote video-conference with President Vladimir Putin, a company spokesperson told Nefte Compass. Putin is scheduled on the same day to hold a meeting of the presidential commission on the development of Russia's fuel and energy complex.
