RUSSIAN METALLURGISTS ASSOCIATION 5th CONGRESS OF RUSSIAN METAL SCIENTISTS

The congress was organized by the Russian Metallurgists Association in Krasnodar on September 10-13, 2001, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the N. E. Bauman Moscow State Technical University, and the Kuban State Technical University (KubGTU). It was devoted to the memory of the outstanding Russian metal scientist and armourer Nikolai Veniaminovich Kalakutskii in connection with his 170th birth anniversary. In fact, the 5th Congress of RASMET was the 44th meeting of Russian metal scientists in the history of Russian metallurgy. The time of the congress, held in the beginning of the new century and millennium, had a special significance for the participants.
